The Western Cape Education Department will persist in implementing its recovery plan at schools worst hit by the month-long teacher strike.
This comes after only 50% of the 149 high schools targeted by the second phase of the plan implemented additional classes for pupils who missed exams and a month of school.
"We will persist with this idea to get all schools on board. We have put a lot into this plan," said Sigamoney Naicker, chief director of education planning, who is heading up the recovery plan task team.
The department has targeted 455 high and primary schools, which were hardest hit by the strike.
