CASE ON POINT: Simonson v. Keppard, No.05-06-00842-CV (06/04/2007) S.W.3d TX
ISSUE: When a relative is taken to a hospital emergency room, a patient's family has a reasonable expectation that the patient will be seen and diagnosed by a competent physician. In this unusual Texas case, a patient taken to the emergency room was admitted by a physician, and ultimately, another physician signed off on the patient's discharge that same day.
