fears of organ mutilation and the destruction of evidence are dilemmas facing Pietermaritzburg police after five bodies retrieved from crime scenes allegedly went missing.

Police believe this situation has arisen because a new health department policy allows private undertakers to collect bodies from crime scenes.

They are now questioning a gang of known criminals who are believed to be behind a slick operation that disposes of or interferes with body evidence at crime scenes.
