Aug. 12--PANA -- Over the hills and in the woods near Pana is a large Scout camp that attracts boys from all over.
Camp Poddesta Big Timbers at Rhodes-France Scout Reservation annually adds features to the 620-acre reserve to teach lessons to Boy Scouts.
Nelda Foster has managed the camp for 12 years. This summer, 444 Scouts participated in four weeks of camp, 30 Scouts more than last year. Individual troops use the camp throughout the year.
When the boys come to summer camp, they learn the traditional Scouting skills. The troops also do nature study in an outdoor classroom or outdoor education lab, Foster said. ...
