A recent federal report on the state of children has found that fewer African-American teens are having babies. The rate for other teens has declined as well.

Overall, teen pregnancy rates have dropped to 21births per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17, down from 22 per 1,000 in 2004. This is the lowest pregnancy rates have ever fallen, and Black teens are declining faster than the national rate.
