Aug. 14--The inaugural Keith Dressel Memorial Walleye Tournament last Friday must have been a popular success, for plans already are afoot to run another one next year.
The angling event, a charity fund-raiser to support the family of Dressel, a Toledo police detective who died in a shooting Feb. 21, saw more than 100 anglers take to western Lake Erie.
Many of the participants were trying their hands at walleye fishing for the first time. Many of them were members of the Toledo police division and their extended law enforcement family across the region.
