VIENNA - The shopping center industry is preparing for an international approach.
The Second World Congress of the International Council of Shopping Centers in Vienna attracted exhibitors and visitors from 37 countries, including Russia, Australia, Indonesia, Argentina, the United States, Canada and several nations in Europe. The theme of the mid-March conference was Think Global-Act Local.
Shopping centers are springing up all over the world in places where only five years ago they would have been unthinkable, such as in Potsdam near the former East Berlin and in Moscow and other cities in the Russian Federation.
