Is Wall Street's wild ride over?: Experts say it's not clear yet when the stock market will settle down.

Aug. 17--Hang tight. The wild ride on Wall Street may not be over yet.

Bulls and bears fought it out yesterday, with the Dow Jones industrial average at one point falling 343 points before closing down 15.

The widely watched index has fallen 1,155 points since reaching a high of 14,000.41 on July 19. It's still up 3.07 percent for the year.

Where the Dow is now, 12,845.78, is where it was in mid-April.

Far from tanking, the Standard & Poor's 500 index is down 0.5 percent for the year, while the Nasdaq composite index is up 1.48 percent this year.
