Aug. 17--SUFFOLK
The City Council has agreed to solicit proposals for an outside review of the city's real estate assessment process, which came under fire last month when the council learned that many property values in three neighborhoods were lowered after some members questioned them.
The review will not include a reassessment of all properties in the city. City Attorney Ed Roettger said state law prohibits cities from doing more than one reassessment in a year.
