The Russian polyurethanes industry is poised to double in size, with consumption passing 500 kilotonnes per annum by 2010. But this growth will depend on a massive improvement in local supply of the basic isocyanate building blocks, according to a recent report.
The report, Isocyanates Market Research, by Merchant Research & Consulting Ltd, based in Minsk, Belarus, presents brief details of the global market situation. It points out that isocyanate demand rose 7 percent in 2006, driven by strong growth in the construction industry in Europe coupled with increased demand in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
