Aug. 17--Assemblyman Guy Houston, R-San Ramon, has settled a three-year-old civil lawsuit alleging that he helped his father defraud investors out of more than $340,000.
Terms of the out-of-court settlement were not disclosed, and the plaintiffs, Samuel and Joann Story of Concord, and Gerald Stefanski and Carol Tomasa, both of Dublin, were advised not to comment.
Houston said he was "pleased with the resolution" of the lawsuit but could not talk about the details because of a confidentiality agreement. He has denied any wrongdoing in his father's business dealings and said the case was politically motivated. It was ...
