Aug. 20--Brian Foster hasn't hit many softballs this year and, by his account, hasn't hit many over outfield fences. Maybe he has been saving those for the Home Run Derby.
Foster, the defending champion in the 18-34-year-old division, will be among the favorites. He receives an automatic spot in the finals.
"I don't want to get out there and embarrass myself," he said Sunday after playing in a Raleigh-area tournament. "I've mostly played league ball. I didn't play in many weekends this year.
