WASHINGTON -- A federal judge in Pennsylvania is refusing to set aside a permanent injunction prohibiting i-Deal LLC's Parity electronic bidding system from infringing on a patent that MuniAuction Inc. obtained in January 2001 for a similar system.
Judge Gary L. Lancaster, of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in Pittsburgh, issued an order late Friday denying a request by i-Deal and its former parent Thomson Corp. to set aside the injunction, arguing they had not presented any good reason for such an action.
Lancaster had issued the injunction on July 31 and had ordered i-Deal and Thomson to pay MuniAuction $84.6 million in ...
