With the Mexican peso falling, the Canadian dollar at a near-record low and a trade war with China (100% tariffs on wine and spirits), it is possible that some vintners are having second thoughts about the world market for wine.
Courage! Exports remain strong, with all U.S. wine exports topping $200 million in 1994 with predictions of a $300 million market by 1998. (After all, nobody was selling that much wine to China or Mexico anyway.) Until very recently, when one wrote about U.S. wine exports, it was really California wine exports, with well over 90% of all exports coming from that state. That situation is changing and the change is coming fast.
