THE $1,300 ION is the first desktop we've seen from Radioactive PC, but we hope it's not the last. In terms of system design, Radioactive is right up there with specialty shops like Alienware and Velocity Micro.
Inside the easy-open case, which looks like an action-film prop, you'll find plenty of room to work, a smartly placed hard drive cage, well-anchored and -routed cables, and a 120mm exhaust fan above the expansion slots for sucking away heat. The power supply, though, is positioned directly over the CPU, meaning you'd have to remove it to upgrade your processor, and only some air holes in the rear panel provide ventilation for the area.
