TOKYO, Aug 22 Asia Pulse - Business is booming for midsize marine transport firms, buoyed by record shipping charges.
Five of the seven midsize shipping firms, including Daiichi Chuo Kisen (TSE:9132), lifted their outlook for half-year pretax profits when they reported group earnings results for the April-June quarter.
Three companies, Shinwa Kaiun Kaisha Ltd. (TSE:9110), Iino Kaiun Kaisha Ltd. (TSE:9119) and Inui Steamship Co. (TSE:9113), boosted their outlook for pretax profit for the entire year as well.
