Aug. 23--CORINTH -- The scene at the former International Paper on Wednesday would have been unimaginable a year ago when village trustees were accusing the site's new owners of trying to bring in dangerous industry and the owners were threatening to sue them for impeding business.
But standing next to what was once the backbone of this tiny Adirondack town, village officials announced they will apply for a $2.5 million state grant to help the Philmet Capital Group open a plasticware business inside the historic mill.
