Aug. 23--Cheesecake Factory fans anticipating the chain's opening in Tulsa only have to hang in there a few more hours -- the doors on the restaurant at 8711 E. 71st St. will finally swing open at 5 p.m. Thursday.
Now they'll just have to wait in long lines for the chance to sample selections from the 18-page, 200-plus-item menu and savor those famously large portions.
"It's not just a restaurant opening. It's an event." said Howard Gordon, senior vice president of business development and marketing for Cheesecake Factory Inc. "People are excited when we open. . . . The buzz is always there."
