Aug. 23--The devil wears Prada again in "The Nanny Diaries."
It's probably only appropriate that, whereas the novel "Prada" was marketed to readers who loved "Nanny" the year before, now the movie version of "Nanny" is being pitched at moviegoers who loved "Prada" last year. Both are stories about naive-ish young women in the employ of vile, style-obsessed rage-aholics who teach them how to be better people. And, in both cases, the movie is better than the book.
"Nanny" is not as witty or lively as "Prada" was, but it has been given a distinctive spin by directors Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, who structure it ...
