Aug. 24--FREDERICK -- Dirt is being pushed around south of Aberdeen for a beef plant. Walworth County might get a power plant. Area ethanol plants are popping up here and there.
And now, Frederick and Bath are getting hog-finishing operations. Two identical structures are going up, one west of Frederick and one northwest of Bath. Each building will have 24 pens with 100 feeder pigs in each pen. For both barns, that's a total of 4,800 pigs. But every year more pigs than that will pass through the operations because as some reach market weight more will be moved in.
