Aug. 24--Judge Dennis Maes' long campaign for a new judicial building may be drawing to a close.
Pueblo County commissioners have a plan to build a new court building on land the county already owns at 10th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, financing about half of the $30 million to $35 million cost with certificates of participation.
Commissioner Anthony Nunez said the county is ready to put the plan in motion as early as next month. Rough plans have been developed in recent years, and the state's judicial department has help available.
