Aug. 24--Sutter County is suing its neighbor, Placer County, claiming the planned 5,230-acre Placer Vineyards development will overload Sutter County highways.
The Placer County Superior Court lawsuit asks that Placer County be prohibited from issuing building permits for Placer Vineyards, which is designed for 32,000 residents.
Besides Placer County, the suit names as respondents 500 property owners and investors in the project.
The lawsuit puts Sutter County on the same side as the Sierra Club and the Sierra Foothills Audubon Society. Those groups also sued Placer County, alleging that Placer Vineyards will not ...
