High-tech airport security is being deployed to stamp out trouble at a notorious Lynn school.
Thurgood Marshall Middle School is installing 16 surveillance cameras, keycard access points and a new front security barrier after problems peaked at the troubled school last year when a teacher fell ill after sipping a spiked drink.
"That's when we said enough is enough. We had to take charge, and that is what we have done," said Cathie Latham, the city's deputy schools superintendent.
Cops were regular visitors to the Porter Street site after it became a magnet for gang clashes and assaults last spring, school chiefs said.
