A high school athlete from North Easton drowned yesterday at a Maine football camp after he leaped into Lake Cobbosseecontee to cool off after football practice, authorities said.
The boy, identified by police as Aaron Ortiz, 15, was a student at Oliver Ames High School. Monmouth police Chief Robert Annese said a lifeguard was on duty, but was unable to rescue him.
