First Ken Neumeister resigned as president of the Allen County Republican Party's executive committee in protest of its support for indicted mayoral candidate Matt Kelty.
A few hours later, committee member Cathy Gallmeyer resigned, too.
Then party Chairman Steve Shine disbanded the committee, which he had created to prevent the very kind of infighting it had come to symbolize.
All of that happened Thursday before 6:30 p.m., when 150 GOP officials gathered for a meeting highlighted by an apology from Kelty -- an event Shine said restored some party unity despite a leading Republican's ...
