Aug. 25--| With their most important series of the season starting, the Phillies turned to the senior member of their rotation seeking some stability.
Jamie Moyer instead delivered a shaky start that kept them sliding.
San Diego raked Moyer for eight runs and 10 hits, sending him to the bench before the fifth inning finished. The Padres tacked on six more runs against the Phillies' scuffling bullpen to cruise to a 14-3 win at Citizens Bank Park in a Friday showdown between the top two teams in the National League wild-card standings.
