Aug. 25--A little loogie made a big mess of Coon Rapids' charming run to the Little League World Series.
The club apologized Friday to the Chandler, Ariz., team that eliminated the Minnesota team Wednesday after television footage showed two Coon Rapids players spitting into their hands before the traditional postgame handshakes.
Calling the incident a "lapse in judgment," manager Mark Lowe issued a statement that Little League officials released from the tournament in South Williamsport, Pa.
