Aug. 25--The basketball coaching fraternity that once included Jim Valvano will be out in full force when the Jimmy V Celebrity Golf Classic makes its Pinehurst debut Sunday.
Current N.C. State head coaches Sidney Lowe -- who played for Valvano -- and Kay Yow are among the celebrities scheduled to appear at Pinehurst Resort. The tournament raised more than $12.5 million for cancer research over the course of its 13-year run at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary.
