The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pa., has purchased the rights to the Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Registered Employee Benefit Consultant (REBC) designations from the National Association of Health Underwriters, Washington, D.C., it was announced last week.
The two parties also are working on an agreement through which the college will develop continuing education materials for NAHU's chapters, according to Mark Lappen, NAHU's executive vice president.
The transfer of ownership comes in the wake of NAHU's $200,000 settlement, with the Saenger Organization over a dispute concerning administration of RHU and REBC study courses and examinations.
