Aug. 26--The UTPB Lady Falcons soccer team opened the 2007 season with a bang Friday.
The Lady Falcons rolled to an 8-0 victory over Wayland Baptist at Falcon Field.
Wayland Baptist is in its first year of reviving its soccer program after closing it in 2003 and that showed Friday.
UTPB scored three goals in the first half and five in the second, absolutely dominating the entire field throughout.
"At halftime I told the girls our next three games are against Division II opponents and we wanted to stay sharp on passing and shots," head coach Dennis Peterson said.
