Darrell General competed in his first Olympic Marathon trials while Ronald Reagan was president.
That was 19 years ago.
Now the 41-year-old General will take his long and illustrious running career to Chicago on Oct. 7 with a chance to make history.
No runner has qualified for six Olympic Marathon trials. General, along with Doug Kurtis, Ric Sayre and Ed Eyestone, have qualified for five.
