At least 12,000 years ago, primitive people made one of history's great journeys. They crossed a land bridge between Asia and North America. This land bridge disappeared underwater as people spread throughout North and South America.
Now a U.S. engineer, T.Y. Lin, wants to restore the land link between Asia and North America. He proposes building a 55-mile-long bridge between Russia and Alaska. His Intercontinental Peace Bridge would become the first manmade bridge connecting two continents.
