Aug. 28--HASTINGS -- By one account, Trent Griebling went to Sadie Bleyle's home at her invitation, to protect her from an abusive boyfriend. When he arrived with two friends, she greeted them with hugs.
By another account, Griebling and his crew broke into the Hastings residence to settle an old score with their longtime rival, Allan Beckles. Their former friend had been "badmouthing" them, and they were looking to teach him respect.
Whatever the truth, minutes after confronting Beckles, 16-year-old Griebling lay dying in the arms of his friend Jeff Blazek.
