SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 12, 1995--Washington Federal Inc. (NASDAQ National Market:WFSL), the newly formed parent company of Washington Federal Savings, today announced earnings for its quarter ended March 31, 1995, of $19,572,000, or 49 cents per share, compared to $23,333,000, or 59 cents per share, for its predecessor company for the same period one year ago.

For the six months ended March 31, 1995, earnings were $40,266,000, or $1.01 per share, compared with $47,529,000, or $1.19 per share for the year-ago period. This represents a 16 percent decline for the quarter and a 15 percent decline for the six months.
