There's more to this beach city than being a shooting location for the Fox teen drama "The O.C." (yes, those pans of Newport Beach actually were shot 40 miles away). In fact, Redondo Beach is more than just a beach; you can be minutes away from the shore and feel like you're nowhere near it. In an area where you're constantly up to your swimming goggles in beach culture, that can be a blessing.
