A Hughes broadcast satellite system was successfully tested aboard the Navy's USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, the company announced yesterday.

DIRECTV Inc., a unit of Hughes Electronics Corp. said the four-month demonstration of DIRECTV (R), a 150-channel direct broadcast satellite (DBS) system, initiated last November, provided uninterrupted service while the ship was moving or caught in rough seas.
