Aug. 29--DURHAM -- When it came time for Duke football coach Ted Roof to set up the schedule for preseason practice, he started at the end.

After years of heartbreak in close games, including three losses by less than a touchdown last year, the Blue Devils hit the practice field and immediately began work on their two-minute offense and defense.
