Aug. 30--Confrontation is bad for business. It brings too many headaches and too many lawyers. Peter Deutsch, a former Democratic U.S. representative and an attorney himself, understands this. Which is why the new Hebrew-language charter school he founded is not teaching Hebrew, for the time being.
"Legally we could," Deutsch said Wednesday.
For one defiant day last week, after the Broward School Board called a timeout on Hebrew lessons at the Ben Gamla Charter School in Hollywood, the publicly funded school did.
