SECAUCUS, N.J.--Panasonic is restructuring its computer printer division to support what it calls a new strategic direction.
The company will emphasize laser printers and multifunction machines, according to Tim Curran, vice president and group general manager of the Computer Products Group of Panasonic Communications & Systems Co. (PCSC).
"In 1994 we refocused our efforts to build and diversify each product group as its own profit center," says Curran, who dubbed last fall's effort "the new" Panasonic. Much of the year was spent on regrouping and reengineering products to fit the needs of the present and future marketplace.
