Aug. 30--Kim Eng Securities, one of the country's largest brokers, is searching for a strategic partner to help boost the firm's market share and investor base.

Chief executive Montree Sornpaisarn said the broker's market share averaged 8 percent to 9 percent in the first half of the year, but dropped sharply in July as foreign investors dominated trade.

Retail investors typically account for 60 percent of turnover on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, with foreign investors accounting for 25 percent to 30 percent and local institutions the rest, he said.
