Aug. 30--Bank Hapoalim (LSE: BKHD; TASE: POLI) today published its financial report for the second quarter of 2007. The bank posted a net profit of NIS 1 billion for the second quarter, up 51 percent on the NIS 665 million for the corresponding quarter of 2006. Net profit from regular operations rose 7.8 percent to NIS 716 million for the second quarter from NIS 664 million, and net profit from one-time events was NIS 285 million, compared with NIS 1 million for the corresponding quarter.
The bank's return on equity was an annualized 23 percent for the second quarter, compared with 16.2 percent for the corresponding quarter. ...
