Two held in Malaysia over inflammatory text messages
Kuala Lumpur, Aug 30 (PTI) -- Malaysian police have detained two men on suspicion of spreading inflammatory text messages about alleged racial riots.
Since the beginning of the month, mobile phone text messages have been circulated alleging that race riots will break out on the country's National Day, a local daily said.
A top police official in southern Johor said the men aged 25 and 29 were nabbed on Tuesday and had been remanded to help in the investigations. The suspects, held under the Internal Security Act, were said to be private sector employees, the New Straits Times reported.
