Aug. 31--If Old Dominion likes playing the no-respect card -- and what team doesn't? -- Monarchs men's soccer coach Alan Dawson believes that the national soccer community has handed his squad a full deck of them.
Sure, the Monarchs are the preseason pick to win the Colonial Athletic Association and enter this season No. 21 nationally. But after a season in which they made the NCAA tournament for the fifth straight year, advanced to the program's first Sweet 16 and then stared down eventual national champion UC Santa Barbara before going down, the Monarchs seem to have expected more.
