KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 31 Asia Pulse - The government will ban the import of plastic waste into Malaysia for five years beginning Oct 1 this year in efforts to protect the environment.

This is to ensure that Malaysia would not be the destination for cleaning and processing other countries' contaminated waste, Minister of International Trade and Industry Rafidah Aziz, said Thursday.
