Even though Auburn High last autumn earned its first-ever state Class AA football title in dramatic fashion, coach Dave Moskov's Maroons (10-3) lost three regular-season contests before starting their improbable run to the state championship. One of those losses was a 35-28 overtime home loss to Cicero-North Syracuse in a game that took two days to complete.
Tonight, Auburn again hosts the Northstars to open the 2007 season, and the Maroons are anxious to avenge one of the defeats that marred the most memorable season in the 107-year history of football at the Cayuga County school.
