Sep. 1--The Rangers activated third baseman Hank Blalock and recalled pitcher Edinson Volquez on today in moves announced by general manager Jon Daniels.
Volquez, who will start in today's game against the Los Angeles Angels, was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma. He spent the entire season in the minors, compiling a 14-6 record and 3.67 ERA at Class-A Bakersfield, Double-A Frisco and Oklahoma.
Blalock was activated from the 60-day disabled list. He has been out since May 17, recovering from surgery for thoracic outlet ...
