Sep. 2--I would rather see a pet alligator in my neighbor's backyard than a pit bull.
But this column about reining in these canines isn't about the danger they pose to humans.
It's about the danger humans pose to them. Yes, pit bulls are victims, too.
Dogfighting seems to be getting more popular. It has expanded beyond the organized, high-stakes gambling ventures in rural areas to cheap street fights in cities.
