Sep. 2--In her early fifties, Diane Smitherman was getting sick of wearing either her contact lenses or "Coke-bottle" glasses every day.
"It just makes you feel older having to wear glasses and your eyes changing -- you know you're getting old," said Mrs. Smitherman, now 57.
So the receptionist at the Chattanooga Eye Institute decided to have Lasik eye surgery.
"There was nothing to it. I see 20/15," she said. "It's wonderful to be able to see without glasses."
