ANAHEIM, Calif. _ Hank Blalock has spent so much time remaking himself as a defender during his three-month convalescence from shoulder surgery that you might have forgotten this:
The guy can hit a little bit.
Blalock still doesn't have enough juice in his arm to play the field, but apparently the same muscles aren't used when swinging the bat. Just four at-bats into his return from the disabled list, Blalock hit a game-changing grand slam in the Rangers' 8-7 win over Los Angeles on Sunday.
