The Veterans Transition Franchise Initiative, known as "VetFran," was developed to allow veterans to transition to civilian life and take advantage of the American Dream of small-business ownership. Nearly 800 franchises have been acquired through the VetFran program and more than 200 are in various stages of negotiation. This is accomplished by IFA-member companies that have agreed to offer veterans financial assistance to help lower their upfront cash outlay.
Currently, more than 200 franchise companies participate in the program and their company profiles, as well as the financial incentives they offer to veterans, can be viewed at Franchise.org.
